The D088 new intake combined with built-in intercooler comes as a "bolt-on" package that both increases performance through water cooling and flow while maintaining the option of an "OEM look" engine compartment. Original cable harness and engine cover fit right in!
The intake comes prepared for Topfeed spreaders of Bosch EV14XK (Short) and Injector Dynamics ID1050x34x14 as well as 1/8 NPT ports for methanol/nitrous injection.
It also has 3 extra 1/8 NPT sockets to measure for example intake temperature, extra vacuum outlet or other.
On top of the rear water tank there are also 2 1/8 BSPT sockets which are placed to be able to log the temperature of the inlet and outlet water from the intercooler and then it is also possible to air the system via these as it becomes the highest point of the system.
This product outperforms the original intake of 6 cooling water rows with a full 11 cooling water rows in this, which results in that under identical working conditions, the DO88 intake can bring the temperature down from 41°C to 26°C. (See diagram picture)
In this configuration they have also taken into account a common problem with the B58 engines which is "Heat Soak". This means that the intake system becomes heat saturated and cannot perform to its full potential. Therefore, this intake has a spacer that counteracts heat transfer from the engine to the intake and insulates which in turn increases the efficiency of the intake.
